Additional questions regarding placements should be reserved for the interview process. As a Administrative Support Assistant, duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Coordinates foreign and domestic travel for staff within the business team. Obtains information on desired itinerary and special needs or requirements from traveler and verifies that necessary approval documents are completed. Advises travelers on travel regulations and procedures on topics such as scheduling travel, obtaining necessary clearances, expenses which may be reimbursed, whether time spent traveling is paid or unpaid, and the need for passport, visa, or special clearances. Responsible for accomplishing tasks associated with coordinating the assigned business team's payroll and effectively serving as technical staff resource to assigned refuges within the business team on payroll and travel matters. Provides assistance on regulations regarding work schedules, overtime, comp time, Sunday premium, night differential, hazard pay, and leave. Performs clerical tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel, databases, graphics (charts), and various communications software. Monitors established travel ceilings for assigned field stations and reports findings to Team Budget Analyst and station managers. Identifies actual problem areas, trends, significant deficiencies, areas of imbalance and makes recommendations and suggestions to the Team Budget Analyst. Analyzes automated financial reports, listings and notices to identify imbalances and discrepancies, and initiates corrective actions, as necessary. Only experience and education obtained by You may qualify at the GS-06 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrated your ability to perform administrative functions (e.g., payroll, personnel, travel, and/or correspondence), using office procedures and equipment, and meeting and dealing effectively with others. You may qualify at the GS-07 level, if you fulfill one of the following qualification requirements:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrated your ability to prepare documents, including request for grant proposals; prepares and maintains acquisition requests; maintains cost accounts; performing administrative functions using office procedures and equipment, and meeting and dealing effectively with others. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Promotion Potential:
This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed represent the full performance level of GS-6/7. At lower grade levels, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-6/7. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher level work, and availability of funds.The selectee may be promoted without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. The Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA),P.L. 114-47, allows certain individuals who currently or formerly were under time-limited competitive appointments at certain land management agencies to compete under merit promotion procedures:

You must provide a copy of the Certificate of Eligibility for Non-Compliance Hiring Based for Public Land Corps Service. (1) In order to be eligible for PLC non-competitive status, a former member of the PLC must provide documentation, as part of their application, verifying their eligibility and meet the following criteria:
(a) Served as a qualified youth on an appropriate conservation project completing a minimum of 640 hours of satisfactory service that included at least 120 hours through the PLC; (b) Applied to a vacancy announcement for which applications are being accepted from individuals with non-competitive status; (c) Meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification standards stated in the vacancy announcement for the position which you are applying; and (d) Completed his/her most recent Corps service, which provided him/her with a total of 640 hours, inclusive of 120 hours on a PLC project as defined in 16 USC 1723(d), within the last two (2) years. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
